XOJet Introduces Flat Rate For Flights Between the Coasts

Citation X from XOJet Private jet travel provider XOJet announced a new flat-rate plan for one-way transcontinental flights between select destinations on the east and west coast. For $25,000 customers can fly between the preferred airports of Teterboro (outside New York), Northeast Philadelphia, Bedford (near Boston), or Manassas (outside Washington, D.C.) on the east coast, and Van Nuys (in Los Angeles), Oakland, Henderson (near Las Vegas), Carlsbad (near San Diego), and Deer Valley which serves Phoenix and Scottsdale.

While sites like Virgin Charter have made searching for the cheapest charter flight easier, it can still be inconvenient to sort through the various bids from providers to find the flight that works best. Even for the most diligent searchers, a $25,000 flight on a super-midsize aircraft is going to be on the low end of what’s returned. The XOJet offer also includes arrival and departure ground transportation as well as catering. There are no hourly surcharges, extra fuel costs, or repositioning fees, and the trips will be made on a Cessna Citation X.

The Citation X is currently the fastest civil aviation jet in the world, capable of flying at Mach .92, just below the speed of sound, getting you from New York to Los Angeles in around four and a half hours.

XOJet’s new deal is a perfect example of their business model in action. The company, which received the largest cash infusion in private aviation history last year, uses a network of fixed base operators in specific cities, and relies on a single plane type.

One of the main advantages of private aviation may be the ability to fly anywhere one likes, but given the fact that so many corporate and individual fliers are going between major cities on each coast a streamlined plan like this makes a lot of sense. As the recession has forced many fliers to reign in their spending, a value proposition like this is likely to have a lot of appeal. Last week, we saw Flexjet lower prices for its Flexjet 25 card. XOJet’s new transcontinental pricing strategy seems to be part of a growing trend towards value in the industry.

this rate will put us out of business. how can we afford to do this? our business must really be bad if this is whats happening. we need a new ceo and fast! i wish we had a clue when it cam to running a profitable aviation business. i am concerned for the future of our company and my/our jobs. i am shocked that we have already had 2 cfos this year. who would ever take that job now?

funny how shady competitors will go to such great lengths to pretend like they are an XO...

xojet needs to sell something or they wont be around much longer. Two sales people I worked with are now gone. One went to flight options. Not much trust there. I went with another company. Flexjet or citationshares are not perfect, but much better than xojet. Not sure how a company with one or two aiorcraft types can do it. Otherwise they are just another broker. TPG must love that they ever started with this. If they dont make some changes soon their business model will never survive. looks like an expensive hobby for tpg. You would think they looked at Sentient and others before ever thinking this would work.

and how about this For a company thats losing money, why are we having a 40 person management meeting at the ritz carlton this week? how wise is that? i work at xojet and am very concerned. i have never seen a company like ours spend without concern for the future. why not save thousands of dollars and have the meeting somewhere else. the ritz carlton? come on! think! i am scared that our jobs and company will be in trouble due to the carelessness and and selfishness of our xojet leaders. so foolish and shortsighted.

To whom it may concern: the services the Ritz Carlton has provided are at an exceptionally reduced rate and below costs as part of a collaboration amongst high-end services companies sharing strategies on customer service. XOJET has received extraordinary marks for customer loyalty and service. Companies like the Ritz Carlton and XOJET share strategies to deliver a better service offering in our core markets. Sounds like they are controlling costs as their offsite cost less than one at a Holiday Inn. As part of a culture of high-end customer service, they often remove employees who do not meet their high standards, assumedly, like the one above.
