Fractional Ownership
Just like it sounds, you buy a share of a plane with the added perk of being able to sell it back. Fractional ownership is a good option if you'd like to use one specific plane for at least 50 hours per year (around a 1/16th share). And moreover, your plane is managed and maintained by experts, so you don't waste time with the typical hassles of whole ownership.
Although the plane is shared, you're guaranteed access from most airports with just 4-48 hours notice. But whether or not you're using your plane, you still pay for monthly maintenance and management fees. Travelers with predictable travel patterns tend to get the most value and enjoyment out of a fractional ownership program.
The largest and most well known fractional jet provider is currently Warren Buffett's NetJets, with over 700 aircraft and hundreds of thousands of bookings per year. But companies like XOJet and others are helping to grow the industry by offering charter flights in addition to fractional ownerships.
